It has been another great week both for the weather and for photography, had the
pleasure of photographing Jasmine and Izzy who really seemed to enjoy the studio session, and now I look forward to more studio work tomorrow when I have a booking for a 6 month old baby and a toddler of three, best time to get great images of children so hoping I manage to do them justice! Have been out and about this week taking pictures of springtime, my most favourite time of the year and I am lucky to live in the countryside and have the fields full of lambs right on my doorstep! Also been out walking and enjoying the good weather, this week my walk took in Leeds Castle where I had a lovely lunch with some friends, all in all been a good week and topped off by receiving lovely cards and flowers from some very lovely clients, so nice when you know that they really like your work! Then I was further surprised by being asked for some images from the fashion shoot at Brooklands for possible publication in a car magazine, so whoop whoop, I am a very happy bunny!

Well it has been a brilliant week - start of the week I was glued to my computer editing all the amazing images from the Brooklands fashion shoot - next up quoting for weddings- and another booking for the studio - but maybe the best thing of all was getting wonderful emails from clients so delighted with the images - sure makes one feel good when your work is appreciated!!! Trips to London and the coast have taken up more of the week, so now looking forward to chilling with the family this weekend!!!
Well what an amazing weekend, first up the photography show which didn't disappoint, so much to see, so many new products, wonderful live shows with some great photographers including Damien McGillicuddy and Karl Taylor - not only were their demonstrations inspiring but also great fun, but the highlight for me was gaining a distinction with the Royal Photographic Society! It has been months of hard work and preparation and on the day I was not at all sure I would be successful - the judges had already discounted some of the panels and sitting in the room waiting for your work to be judged was simply nerve wracking, but to hear your name called out to be told that you had supplied a successful body of work was amazing! Think I am still on cloud nine, so now that I have achieved my LRPS time to think about going for the next one, well that is if the nerves can stand it!!
Amazingly enough although tempted by all the new products on display and despite thinking about upgrading one of my cameras, and spending ages on the canon stand playing with the cameras, I managed to keep my spending in check and came home with just a new stand and boom arm for the studio!!! |
